How It Started
CAPMA didn't begin in a boardroom or with a business plan. It began with a simple observation: good people were struggling to find trustworthy community — people they could rely on, learn from, and build with.
The founders had spent years in their respective fields — construction, business, law, family life — and had each independently discovered principles and structures that worked. Trusts that actually protected. Communities that actually supported. Ways of operating that honoured both independence and cooperation.
When they found each other, the question became obvious: Why keep this knowledge to ourselves? And so CAPMA was born — not as a business opportunity, but as a genuine answer to a genuine need.
What the Founders Established
The foundation upon which CAPMA stands today.
The CAPMA Constitution
Our governing document that establishes the principles, rights, and responsibilities of all members. It defines who we are and how we operate — a foundation built to last.
The Membership Structure
A framework for how members join, participate, and benefit from the association. Designed to be fair, accessible, and genuinely useful — not just another subscription.
Administrative Systems
The processes, tools, and infrastructure that enable CAPMA to serve its members effectively. Built for reliability, security, and ease of use.
The Foundation for Growth
The groundwork for CAPMA to expand and develop while staying true to its principles. Built to scale, but never at the expense of quality or integrity.
The Office of the Inception Compact
Ongoing stewardship to ensure CAPMA remains true to its founding principles.
The founding members hold the Office of the Inception Compact — a role that provides ongoing oversight and ensures CAPMA remains aligned with its original vision and values.
This isn't about control or hierarchy. It's about stewardship. The founders take responsibility for protecting what CAPMA stands for — so that as the community grows, its core principles remain intact.
Their role is to serve the membership, not the other way around. Every decision is made with the long-term health of the community in mind.
Areas of Oversight
Constitutional Matters
Protecting and interpreting the founding documents.
Governance
Major decisions affecting the association's direction.
Membership Integrity
Ensuring the quality and trustworthiness of our community.
Long-Term Direction
Guiding CAPMA's growth while preserving its principles.
Diverse Backgrounds, Shared Vision
Our founders bring decades of combined experience across multiple fields.
This diversity isn't just background — it's practical wisdom. When a member has a question about trusts, business, trades, or family matters, there's real experience behind the guidance they receive.
A Growing Global Community
What started as a small group has grown into something much larger.
CAPMA began with a handful of like-minded individuals. Today, our community spans multiple countries, with new members joining regularly — each bringing their own skills, experience, and commitment to our shared values.

But growth has never been the goal. Quality has. We'd rather have a smaller community of genuinely committed members than a large database of names. Every person who joins CAPMA makes the community stronger.
